DO SOMETHING NOW … Ask Me How Speakers’ Series - Voters’ Rights with Barb Byrum

Kent Dems Speaker Series Event for July – Voters’ Rights with Barb Byrum

The Kent County Democratic Party is proud to host a timely presentation focused on Voters’ Rights — a cornerstone of our democracy that demands year-round vigilance and advocacy, not just attention during election seasons.

Join us on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at KentDems Headquarters, 301 Fuller Ave, NE, for an engaging evening with Barb Byrum, Ingham County Clerk and longtime advocate for fair and accessible elections.

As threats to voting access continue across the country, this event will dive into the ins-and-outs of voters’ rights—highlighting what each of us can do to protect and expand this fundamental freedom.

About the Speaker:
Barb Byrum has served as Ingham County Clerk since 2013 and has been a consistent voice for secure, inclusive, and transparent elections. Her deep experience in election administration and legislative advocacy provides critical insight into how local actions can impact statewide and national outcomes.

Don’t miss this important opportunity to hear from one of Michigan’s foremost election officials and learn how you can get involved in the fight for voting rights. Together, we can ensure democracy is not just preserved—but strengthened—for future generations.

NOTE:  Note: Any candidate announcements or mentions of candidates do not constitute an endorsement from KCDP. Per our endorsement policy, the KCDP is neutral in partisan primary elections.

*Barb Byrum was engaged as the speaker for this event in March 2025, prior to her May 21, 2025 announcement to run for Michigan Secretary of State.
