MicroAction Monday - The Most Important Office Nobody Talks About

School boards shape some of the most important decisions in our communities, from budgets and curriculum to student support, staffing, and long-term district priorities. But for many people, the process of actually serving on a school board remains a mystery.

Join us on June 15 for a MicroAction Monday panel focused on the realities of school board service and what potential candidates should know before filing to run. This moderated conversation will feature current and former school board members discussing: what school boards actually do day-to-day, challenges and rewards of serving, what makes an effective board member, and current needs and opportunities facing local districts.

Most importantly, this event is designed to create space for questions and honest conversation. If you’ve ever considered running for school board (or encouraged someone else to) you’ll have the opportunity to ask directly about the experience, expectations, and realities of the role.

With the school board filing deadline approaching on July 21, now is the time to learn more, explore whether this work is right for you, and connect with others who care deeply about public education and community leadership.

MicroAction Mondays are built around one idea: small actions can lead to meaningful change. Asking questions, showing up, and considering service in your community is one of those actions.
